SEDUM SIEBOLDII
Latin Name: Sedum sieboldii
Description: Commonly known as October Daphne Stonecrop, this low-growing, succulent-like perennial is a fantastic choice for many seasons of interest. This plant bears a mound of horizontal branches, with tough, thick rounded succulent-like leaves densely whorled around each branch from top to bottom. These leaves emerge blue-green in the spring, with a bright red ring around the edges of each leaf. In fall, the foliage changes to a brilliant bright red-orange, contrasting nicely with the clusters of bright-pink, star-shaped flowers that bloom at the ends of the stems. Highly attractive to pollinators when in full bloom. An incredibly drought tolerant plant, this beauty is perfectly suited to rock garden, border edging, and mass planting applications.
Trim back after flowering to maintain shape. Can be propagated by cuttings or division.
