Latin Name: Carissa macrocarpa
Description: This specimen grows as a small evergreen shrub in its native climate. Here, it is grown as a lovely, unique indoor tropical plant. It features dense, dark green, leathery leaves over thick bark-covered stems from which blossom large, creamy white, star shaped flowers which emit a lovely, citrus-like fragrance. These lovely blooms give way to small, red, showy edible fruits which have a mild, sweet flavour to them. Closely related to frangipani.
Watering: Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Susceptible to root rot.
