Latin Name: Miscanthus Sinensis 'Varigatus'

Description: Also known as Japanese Silver Grass, this variety of ornamental perennial grass is a garden favourite. As a warm season grass, most growth occurs between June-August. Plumes of silver feathers appear in the fall, turning a burnt-red colour as the temperature drops. Cut grass back to 6" in the fall for best performance.

Potentially Invasive: Miscanthus cultivars are reputably sterile, but two cultivars can occasionally cross-pollinate and produce viable seeds. Recommended to plant only one cultivar.
