LAVANDULA HIDCOTE
Latin Name: Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote'
Description: This highly popular variety of English Lavender is prized by gardeners for its absolutely delightful scent and lovely, dainty blooms that contrast wonderfully with the blue/green foliage. The clusters of small, periwinkle/soft purple, tubular and fragrant blooms erupting from dark purple calyxes are suspended gracefully above soft, small, narrow, oval-shaped, blue-green foliage that emits a lovely, traditional lavender scent when brushed or bruised. This variety makes a fantastic choice for low evergreen hedging, borders, rock and pollinator gardens. Drought tolerant, makes for excellent dried flowers. Trim back spent blooms to encourage reblooming. Trim back in spring to encourage bushier growth.
