The blossoms appear over finely toothed, heart shaped dark green leaves, which remain neat and compact throughout the season.
Blooms on old and new wood. Do deadhead, but refrain from hard pruning. However, if you do prune, wait until after Mother’s Day and after the green leaves have emerged, and only prune off the brown stems that didn’t survive winter
