GINKGO MARIKEN

$99.99

Latin Name: Ginkgo biloba 'Mariken'

Description: Commonly known as the Maidenhair Tree, this dwarf deciduous conifer is packed with thick, spreading branches adorned in small, fan shaped, green leaves with prominent vertical venation. A very slow growing tree (approximately 2" per growing season), this specimen is attractive during all seasons! In the fall, the foliage changes to a brilliant golden yellow before shedding, leaving behind spiky bristles which create winter visual interest. Very pollutant tolerant tree, male specimens do not produce the small, distinctive, green, globular fruit seen on female trees.

Grown best in very well-draining soils, tolerant of both alkaline and acidic soils. Generally pest and disease free. Transplants well, establishes without difficulty.

Height: 60-90cm
Spread: 210-240cm
Shape: Upright
Sun or Shade: Full Sun
Foliage: Small, fan shaped, green leaves with prominent vertical venation
Fall Colour: Golden yellow
