Latin Name: Ficus elastica 'Ruby'
Description: Also known as a variegated Rubber Tree, this colourful houseplant requires bright light, and is quite easy to care for. The new leaves emerge a deep, ruby pink colour, and as the growth matures will show tones of green, white, cream, and pink. The leaves are large and waxy, and have excellent air purification qualities. A gorgeous statement plant, requiring little care for such a large show. Do note that variegated varieties do need lots of sunlight to grow.
Watering: Allow soil to dry out fully between waterings. Usually once every 2 weeks in the summer and once a month in the winter.
Growth Rate: Relatively fast-growing in the right conditions.
Shape: Upright
Sun or Shade: Full, indirect bright light.
Difficulty level: Fairly easy
