Latin Name: Colocasia esculenta 'Diamond Head'
Description: Primarily grown for its spectacular ebony foliage, this stunning plant boasts long-stalked, thick, glossy, chocolate coloured, heart-shaped leaves that can grow up to 15 inches long! Similar to its cousin the Alocasia, but Colocasia foliage points downwards, whereas Alocasia leaves point skyward. Rarely, flowers will be produced, reminiscent of those produced by calla lilies. They feature a central yellow-green spathe and spadix, which is typically not particularly showy. The tubers and leaves are also used in a variety of cooking applications, however they must first be cooked to break down the interior oxalic acid. This hassle-free beauty makes for an unforgettable focal point in your home!
Toxic to dogs and cats. Best kept at a height if you share your home with pets. May cause mild stomach upset in humans when ingested prior to cooking.
Watering: Check the soil every 3-4 days and water as required. If the first inch of the soil or so is dry, it is likely time to water.

We do not guarantee against losses due to vandalism, theft, mechanical or chemical injury, animal damage, pest damage, neglect, improper care or severe weather conditions beyond our control.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY: The purchaser agrees to follow proper planting, maintenance, watering frequency and winter protection.
If replacement is necessary, the customer is responsible for presenting the failed plant material and the original purchase invoice.
