Latin Name: Julangs Cineria
Description: Also called white walnut; a Ontario native tree with a slow to moderate growth rate. Self-pollinating tree, that produces a sweet and oily edible walnut in the fall. Prefers moist well-drained soil, however, it is very adaptable to dry soil conditions. Not particular to soil type or PH. Like its relative the black walnut, this species is allelopathic. Susceptible to butternut canker.
