SKU: 47115

Latin Name: Baptisia 'Purple Smoke'

Description: This classic, well-branched perennial produces dusky, light purple, double-lipped, pea-shaped flowers that grow clustered on long, terminal charcoal-grey spires above bushy mounds of clover-like grey-green foliage. The plants burst into bloom in the mid to late spring, and mature plants can bear over 50 blooming stalks! Although most cultivars of Baptisia produce seed pods in the fall, this variety rarely does, making for a nice, clean fall look. This plant is native to the prairies of North America, making it a drought tolerant and virtually hassle free perennial. An excellent choice for a smokey elegant touch in your spring garden.
