Latin Name: Convallaria majalis
Description: Commonly known as lily-of-the-valley, this herbaceous perennial is ideal for shady areas with heavy clay textured soil. Usually found in woodlands, Lily of the Valley produces gentle, dangling spires of highly fragrant, white flared bell flowers over clumps of wide, medium green leaves. It is the birth flower for the month of May, the month it is typically seen blooming in abundance to announce the arrival of spring. A real charmer, it requires little maintenance and naturalizes easily to form large colonies. The perfect edging plant for shady gardens!
