Latin Name: Prunus serotina


Description: Also known as the American cherry, Rum cherry, or mountain black cherry, this hardy variety is a great native addition to any landscape with sandy earth and full sun. Bark is ornamental, aging to a silvery grey and flaking on mature trunks. Clusters of white flowers bloom in the spring, maturing to small cherries in the late summer. Extremely bitter but very tasty in pies and jellies.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY: The purchaser agrees to follow proper planting, maintenance, watering frequency and winter protection.

If replacement is necessary, the customer is responsible for presenting the failed plant material and the original purchase invoice.
