Latin Name: Vaccinium vitis-idaea
Description: A small shrub that is commonly grown for its edible fruit, though it does have ornamental features. This low and dense evergreen with form a dense thicket; small white flowers in the Spring, and then in late Summer will have clusters of bright red red berries that have a distinct tart flavor. Excellent for groundcover, borders, massing, and the berries are great for fresh eating, cooking, baking, preserves, and juice-making.
