Cylindra cooks well and is best used when young. Roots have a sweet, tender flavour when larger.
Beets thrive in sandy loam with a pH of 6.0-7.5. Important to fertilize with a soil acidifier.
Sow seeds 1.2cm (1/2") deep and 2.5cm (1") apart in two week intervals.
Avoid sowing after mid July. Thin the young seedlings 7-10cm (3-4") apart to ensure enough room for root production.
Overwatering may lead to excessive leaf growth and small, pale roots.
GUARANTEE: Peter Knippel Nursery Inc. agrees to replace once at no charge, any tree, shrub or evergreen purchased at regular retail price, which fails to grow in the first year from date of purchase.
Roses are guaranteed for the duration of the first growing season (from Spring to Fall) from the date of purchase.
Plants purchased on sale are guaranteed to the sale price only.
In no case shall Peter Knippel Nursery Inc. be liable for more than the amount of the original purchase price.
NOT COVERED: The guarantee does not apply to annuals, tropicals, houseplants, perennials, above-ground planters, sod, bulbs, seeds, customer plants which have been transplanted or ‘final sale’ items. Roses are not guaranteed over the winter months.
We do not guarantee against losses due to vandalism, theft, mechanical or chemical injury, animal damage, pest damage, neglect, improper care or severe weather conditions beyond our control.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY: The purchaser agrees to follow proper planting, maintenance, watering frequency and winter protection.
If replacement is necessary, the customer is responsible for presenting the failed plant material and the original purchase invoice.
